PRC-77 (Ra 146) är en modernare variant av PRC-25 (Ra 145). Den synliga skillnaden är att
PRC-77 (Ra 146) på frontpanelen har en anslutningskontakt märk "X-Mode". För anslutning av yttre kodningsutrustning (krypto).
Stationen lämnar vid sändning en 150 Hz signal för manövrering av tonstyrd brusspärr hos motstationen t.ex Ra 145/146 och Ra 421/422.
