Amfibiebil 101

  • This is the 101 A, as shown by the flat sideboards and 26402 registration.

After a demonstration by Alvis of the first prototype (Chassis PV2) for Sweden in March 1962, Sweden bought two pre production prototypes. Chassis numbers PV4 (26401) and PV5 (26402) were delivered and in Sweden late in 1962.

They had a slightly different marine propulsion system control to the production models.

These two are the model that Matchbox based their model on. These are the only two Alvis Stalwart with octagonal cab hatches, rather than round hatches.

Both later had FOCO 150 cranes fitted, and fold down benches for troops to sit on. The load area canopy frame was raised, so that troops could sit underneath it.

    101 A were sold off in 1983.
