Amfibiebil 101 med flytsläpvagn 803

  • This photo shows the Alvis Stalwart Amfibiebil 101 C (FV622S) of the Rörligt Kustartilleri towing a Flytsläpvagn 803. Inside the Flytsläpvagn 803 is the rolling chassis of a Bofors 7.5/65 artillery gun – minus the gun itself. You can see the drawbar of the gun trailer sticking up inside the floating trailer. The photo was taken during the early trials of the Flytsläpvagn 803 trailer.

All 6 trailers have the chassis number which shows they were made in 1974.

There is only one known incident of the trailer being used to transport rubbish.

I am told by Ingemar Persson that the floating trailer had loading ramps. The Amfibiebil 101 B or C would park facing the front of the trailer. The trailer has a “winch roller” and “rope guides” on top of the front panel. The gun was winched up the ramp and into the transport position by the 101’s winch. I have on my website photos of the inside of the trailer, and the trailer in the water with the complete 7.5/65 gun in the back of it.

I know of at least two Flytsläpvagn 803 trailers that are still in preservation.

It would be nice if Rörligt Kustartilleri arranged to film the loading and unloading of the 7.5/65 gun into a Flytsläpvagn 803 trailer, to record history.
